How Micro Fiber Works

Most of our NEATitems.com Ultrafine Micro Fiber Cloths and Towels are a super fine blend of 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. We have 1000's and 1000's of happy micro fiber customers who tell us that they are the best for everything from detailing their cars, to cleaning up after the kids, to drying after a shower.

Each individual strand of Ultrafine Micro Fiber thread contains 1,152 'strings' of non-abrasive micro fiber. Each fiber is 200 times finer than a human hair! This is the secret of micro fiber's incredible cleaning ability. Each of these tiny wedge shaped strings acts like a miniature razor that improves surface contact to clean and scrape dirt and oils off of whatever surface you're cleaning, but is totally non-abrasive.

Almost 3/4 of the micro fiber cloths and towels currently being sold in the U.S. are made with non-split micro fiber. You'll notice a huge difference in the cleaning ability and the absorption capabilities between the ultrafine split micro fiber and the ordinary micro fiber cloths that are flooding the market. An ultrafine micro fiber can be as much as 50 times finer than a cheaply made micro fiber.

One of the micro fiber polymers is lyophilic (has an affinity to oil) so oil and grease adhere directly to the fibers without any preparatory treatment. This also is why the ultrafine micro fiber cloths do not rinse well and must be laundered when dirty. The open spaces in between the micro fibers trap dust, dirt and oil until washed away with mild soap or detergent.

The spaces and capillary effect between the polyester filaments and the polyamide core also allow large amounts of moisture to be collected into the cloth making them very absorbent. You'll find that they clean and polish at the same time. The spaces allow for quicker drying time eliminating much of the bacterial growth found in slow drying cloths.

An ordinary cloth fiber tends to push dirt and dust and has very little surface area or contact to collect it. Residue is left behind on the surface that you are trying to clean or dust. Because of their lack of interior open spaces, an ordinary cloth will hold very little dirt and takes longer to dry creating a more desirable breeding environment for bacteria.

An ultrafine micro fiber cloth has millions of tiny 'scoops' that pull dirt, dust, oil and grease up inside the cloth and holds it in the millions of open spaces until you wash the cloth. The results are clean, streak free surfaces. Using water helps to emulsify dirt and oil making it easier for the micro fiber cloth to pick it up.

These features that are unique to micro fiber cloths, allow you to greatly reduce if not virtually eliminate the use of ordinary household cleaners. This not only saves you money, but is safer for you, your family and pets, and the environment. The hypo-allergenic cloths are non-abrasive and safe to use on almost any surface. NEATitems.com Ultrafine Micro Fiber Cloths will last much longer than ordinary cloths. They are virtually lint free.

Save time. Save money. Save the environment.

Micro Fiber washing instructions

Hand wash with dish soap in hot water or machine wash with laundry detergent. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use bleach (bleach will shorten the life of your micro fiber cloths.) Do not use fabric softener (fabric softener leaves a film on the cloths.) Be careful when machine washing or drying in mixed loads (micro fiber cloths will pick up lint from other fabrics.) Air dry or put in dryer on low heat. Colors may bleed during first washing.

Micro Fiber Pricing

If you've been pricing micro fiber cloths on the Internet, at stores or through multi-level marketing, you know that prices on cloths can vary from $2.00 per cloth up to $20.00 per cloth. Of course some of these cloths are simply way over-priced, but many are different qualities of material (80/20 blend versus 70/30 blend, finished size, overall weight of fabric, etc.) It's like buying bath towels. You choose between the ultra plush bath towels like you'll find at the 5 star hotels or the see-through towels you'll find at the flea bag motel. We had an anonymous phone call recently on our voice mail claiming that she could buy our Ultrafine Micro Fiber cloth at her local store for $1.99. Well she was half right, I'm sure she did find a cloth for that price (maybe even less!), but she wouldn't get the '5 star' cloth that we offer here at NEATitems.com. When you actually compare our cloths to any other cloths available, you'll see the difference in quality. If you don't agree, simply return them for a 100% refund. BUT, if you would rather buy a less expensive cloth, check out our Micro Fiber Woven Cleaning Cloths for as little as $1.75 per cloth.
