Slide Rail installation instructionsInstalling a slide rail in your shower is not a difficult task and can be easily accomplished by most people with some basic tools. Please take your time when installing a slide rail shower. Position the slide rail carefully before drilling into your wall. Make sure the hole you drill is sized for the drywall anchor you are using (some slide rail sets may contain different sized screws and anchors, double check before drilling!) Do not try to drill all the holes at one time, take it in steps to make sure all holes are spaced properly.
ISA Yoga and ISA Igloo Slide RailsISA Yoga & Igloo Slide Rails (Igloo Slide Rail mounts look different than the Yoga Slide Rail mounts, but the installation is almost exactly the same.) 1. You'll need an 8mm (5/16") drill bit to install the ISA Yoga, ISA VIP, ISA Elite and the ISA Igloo Slide Rail Shower sets. When drilling through ceramic tile and other hard wall surfaces, you'll need a 'ceramic' or 'masonry' bit. (Please note on the picture below, the white plastic stud coming out of the back of the wall bracket needs to be cut or broken off. Not all Yoga sets will have this stud.) 2. On the Yoga sets, use long screw to push plug out of wall bracket from the back side of the bracket. On the Igloo sets, the top and bottom knobs slide off. 3. Position slide bar to the height and location that you want it and mark top hole only. 4. Drill top hole and insert drywall anchor. (See below for other mounting anchor options.)
5. Screw top bracket loosely onto wall and making sure bar is straight and vertical, mark bottom hole. 6. Drill bottom hole and insert drywall anchor. 7. Before tightening bar onto wall, use plumber's putty or silicone sealant on back side of the wall spacers to prevent water from getting into the screw holes. Do not overtighten screws. 8. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 9. Wait until sealant has dried before showering. 10. Yoke tension can be adjusted (not usually necessary) by sliding off the side buttons and tightening or loosening the screws on either side.
ISA VIP Slide Rails1. 2. Hold slide bar to the height and location that you want it and mark top hole only. (Please note: in the picture below the mounting disk is shown reversed. It needs to mount in the opposite direction.) 3. Drill top hole and insert drywall anchor. (See below for other mounting anchor options.) Use plumber's putty or silicone sealer into and around anchor.
4. Screw top mounting disk ( groove to wall) onto wall. Do not overtighten screws. 5. Attach either brass bracket to the disk using the allen set screw. 6. Insert bar into bracket and bottom bracket onto bar. Mark and drill bottom hole and insert drywall anchor. Repeat step 4 for bottom mounting disk. 7. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 8. Wait until sealant has dried before showering. 9. Yoke tension can be adjusted (not usually necessary) by sliding off the side buttons and tightening or loosening the screws on either side.
HS1001 Brass Slide Rails1. You'll need the proper sized drill bit to install the HS Slide Rail Shower sets. The manufacturer does not package these slide rails with a uniform sized drywall anchor. When drilling through ceramic tile and other hard wall surfaces, you'll need a 'ceramic' or 'masonry' bit. 2. Hold slide bar to the height and location that you want it and mark top hole only.
3. Drill top hole and insert drywall anchor. (You must determine proper drill bit size before starting.) 4. Screw brass mounting stud onto drywall anchor. The stud has a fiber sealing washer attached to the backside to seal against wall. You may need to still use a sealant if your wall is not smooth. 5. Apply plumbers putty or silicone sealant to the backside of the trim ring and thread onto stud. Hand tighten only. 6. Using a small blade screwdriver, tighten mounting bracket set screw firmly onto stud. 7. Screw rail onto mounting bracket. 8. Repeat steps above for bottom mounting bracket. 9. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 10. Wait until sealant has dried before showering. 11. Handle mounting bracket tension can be adjusted by tightening or loosening screw inside handle slot.
HS1002 Brass Slide Rails1.
Screw brass mounting disk onto drywall anchor. The disk has an o-ring attached to the backside to seal against wall. You may need to still use a sealant if your wall is not smooth. 5. Thread mounting bracket onto disk. Hand tighten only (disk will turn on wall to line up hole for rail.) 6. Line up hole in slide rail and push locking pin into mounting bracket. 7. Repeat steps above for bottom mounting bracket. 8. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 9. Wait until sealant has dried before showering. 10. Handle mounting bracket tension can be adjusted by tightening or loosening screw inside handle slot.
HC-SR01 Brass Slide Rail with Glass Shelf1.
3. Drill top holes and insert drywall anchors. (You must determine proper drill bit size before starting.) 4. Screw mounting disk onto drywall anchors. Use a sealant between shower wall and disk. Before removing wall mount as described below, install bottom disk. Measure carefully and check twice before drilling. 5. Remove nut and washer to take apart bottom wall mount. Use pliers to loosen double threaded stud. (PLEASE NOTE: the double threaded stud hidden inside the brass sleeve will have wrench marks on it from the factory. This is normal and will not show when the slide rail is installed) 6. When the bracket has been removed, slide glass shelf onto rail and reassemble. Position so set screw is facing towards back wall so it's not visible when entering shower. 7. Place slide rail brackets over wall disks and tighten set screws. Tighten set screw on glass shelf. 8. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 9. Wait until sealant has dried before showering. 10. Handle mounting bracket tension can be adjusted by tightening or loosening screw inside handle slot.
Swing Arm Slide Rail1. You'll need the proper sized drill bit to install the Swing Arm Slide Rail Shower set. The manufacturer does not package these slide rails with a uniform sized drywall anchor. When drilling through ceramic tile and other hard wall surfaces, you'll need a 'ceramic' or 'masonry' bit. 2. Hold swing arm slide bar to the height and location that you want it. Determine which side of mounting bracket you want the arm to be on. Slide back chrome cover and remove drywall anchors and screws.
3. Carefully mark and drill the 3 holes, making sure the slide arm will be perfectly vertical, and insert drywall anchors. (You must determine proper drill bit size before starting.) 4. Apply plumbers putty or silicone sealant between mounting bracket and shower wall. Screw swing arm onto drywall anchors. 5. Carefully line up slots on chrome cover with grooves in mounting bracket and slide cover in place. 6. Hand tighten hose onto water supply and handshower. 7. Wait until sealant has dried before showering.
In addition to a slide rail shower set, you may also want a standard wall shower. This gives you the option of using either shower head whenever you want. All you need is a diverter valve.
Here are 2 alternative anchors to use instead of the drywall anchors included with your slide rail shower set. Both offer a greater degree of holding strength compared to plastic drywall anchors, but we have had 1000's of customers use the standard drywall anchor bolts without problems. Please keep in mind, no matter what type of anchor you use, slide rail bars are not safety grab bars. |
