Ana and I both needed to get some dental work so we decided a trip to Mexico was in order. We spent Christmas and New Year's in Sedona and then took the bus from Phoenix to Obregon. Not a bad trip and only $50 per person each way, a lot cheaper than flying and about the same travel time since no one seems to fly non-stop to Obregon. George and Reya dropped us off at the bus station close to Sky Harbor Airport on January 6 for the 11 hour trip. The bus was nice and comfortable with plenty of leg room for our cooler and everything. They stopped in Nogales so Ana and I could get our tourist permits while everyone waited for us, took about 15-20 minutes. Sitting high up in the bus, the road in Mexico was much like sailing as we rocked from one side to the other while barreling down the highway at 120 kph until we screech to a stop for the topes (bumps) that suddenly appear in the road without much warning. At least the main toll highway is pretty well maintained and not too many holes or bad spots like the free roads.
This is the Grajeda house on Calle Nuevo Leone in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. It a nice 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house on a reasonably quiet street. There is a place across the street that rents an outside space for parties so sometimes there is a fair amount of loud music into the night, usually on Saturdays.
