We set sail from Puerto Vallarta in April 1989 headed for the Hiva Oa in the Marquesas Islands. Had a great sail most of the way. Here we are getting dragged across the equator.
We did hit a few squalls in the ITCZ zone. One hit us at 2AM. We had had our spinnaker up for 5 days and nights and were really getting spoiled when 50 knot winds came up and laid us over. The spinnaker did end up in the water but didn't rip and No Worries quickly stood back up once the sheet was released. A mess down below but no serious damage except to Tom's finger.
We certainly didn't starve!. Plenty of fresh fish. Mahi mahi, wahoo, tuna and others.
